Seventeen trips sit on file at this office, and every one of them is arranged by telephone or by mail before anything is reserved. Nothing on this site checks out. There is no cart, no card field, no confirmation screen. When you call a travel agent in Greensboro at this address, what happens next is that somebody writes down what you want, checks it against what the operating company still has open, and comes back to you with a figure and a hold date. Birchway Point is a booking office. It arranges reservations with the companies that run the trips, and those companies pay the office a commission after you travel. You are billed nothing here at any stage.
Which of the three to use
- (336) 680-4173
- The line at the counter. Best for a trip you have not shaped yet, for tier questions, and for anything where a back and forth beats a paragraph.
- overland@birchwaypoint.com
- The booking desk. Send a request, a date range, a party size, a budget. looked at while the day is still running.
- casework@birchwaypoint.com
- Corrections only. If a written figure, date, inclusion or name looks wrong, this is the box that gets it fixed, and a number against your dates a number against your dates takes two to four working days to reissue.
The address is 324 West Wendover Avenue, Greensboro, NC 27408. It is a working booking office and not a storefront you browse, so there is nothing to walk in and look at. Requests through the form on this page are Requests reach this form 24/7. It has no closing time to keep.. If you are already holding a written quote and you want the same person to pick it back up, say so in the first line and quote the reference printed on it.
Have these three ready before you dial
Dates first, and say how firm they are. A window of four days does more for you than a single date, because the difference between the two often decides whether a trip in the eight to twelve month tier is still open at all.
Party size and how the party splits into rooms. Two adults sharing is one arrangement. Two adults and a grandparent is a different one, and it changes both the figure and which trips can take you.
A number you can live with. Trips on file run $1,890 to $4,450 per person, and saying which end of that you are working toward saves a call. Nobody at this office will push you up the scale. It narrows seventeen trips to three or four in about a minute, which is the entire point of saying it out loud.
Worth knowing before you dial: the short-notice tier moves fastest and the two-winter tier moves slowest, and the questions are not the same. A departure a few weeks out is a question of what is still open. A departure eighteen months out is a question of when the operating company opens its book, which for a handful of these is once a year.
Nothing here asks you for money
No card number is taken on this line, in either mailbox, or on this site. The office holds no card on file. Payment, when the time comes, is made directly to the company operating the trip, on that company's own terms, and you will have those terms in writing before you agree to anything.
You will not be asked for a Social Security number, a bank account, a scan of any document, or a date of birth beyond what the operating company itself requires at the point of reservation, and that is requested by them and not by this office.
You will not be asked to buy anything alongside a trip. This office does not sell insurance of any kind, does not handle visas, and does not process passports. If a trip you are looking at needs any of those, you will be told plainly that it does and pointed at the right place to go, and that is where the involvement of this office ends.
You will not be asked to decide on the call. A quote comes to you in writing, it names what is in and what is out, and you sit with it. Cancellation terms are set out in full at the cost of pulling out, and the sequence a request follows is at the order the work happens in.
Write instead, and read this first
The form takes requests There is no attendance timetable on this site and there will not be one. Hours on a door answer a question nobody is asking, which is whether a human being happens to be sitting down at this moment. The question that matters is how long you wait for something useful. So: the request form is awake 24/7 and shuts for nothing, whatever lands in it is opened by a person before that working day is out, and a number against your own dates takes two to four working days because a second company has to answer first. No figure is guessed at to make the wait shorter., and it goes to the same desk the mailbox does. It is the better route if your dates are complicated, if there are more than four of you, or if you want the answer in a form you can forward to somebody else.
Two things to note. First, a request is not a reservation and does not hold anything. Nothing is held until the operating company confirms it and you have that confirmation in writing. Second, the form asks for no payment detail and there is no field on it that could take one. If you ever see a page on this site asking for a card, it is not this site.
